A wooden steering wheel requires very little maintenance to keep it looking its best. Regular gentle cleaning and occasional polishing will help protect the finish and keep both the wood and metalwork looking good.

Cleaning a wooden steering wheel
For everyday maintenance, simply wipe the wooden rim with a clean, soft microfibre cloth. This will remove dust, fingerprints and light marks.
For more stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp microfibre cloth and then dry the wheel with a clean cloth.
Avoid soaking the wheel or using strong household cleaners or solvents that could affect the finish.
Removing light marks and scuffs with T-Cut
Over time, a wooden steering wheel may pick up small marks or light scuffs through normal use.
For minor surface marks, T-Cut can be used to gently polish the finished wooden rim, in much the same way it is used to remove light marks from automotive paintwork.
Use only a small amount of T-Cut on a soft cloth and gently polish the affected area. Don't apply excessive pressure or repeatedly polish the same area.
We recommend testing T-Cut on a small, inconspicuous area first before treating a more visible part of the wheel.

Caring for polished spokes
The polished metal spokes can normally be maintained with a clean microfibre cloth.
If they require additional polishing, use a suitable metal polish and apply it to the cloth rather than directly onto the wheel. This makes it easier to control where the polish goes and prevents unnecessary contact with the wooden rim.
