The Stirling Moss — Jim Clark Saw
Les Leston owned a cottage in Kent, and whenever big race meetings took place at Brands Hatch, he’d invite the top drivers to stay for the weekend. In that cottage, there was a table that Stirling Moss and Jim Clark once used a hacksaw to cut a birthday cake in half.
We still have both the saw and the table — and they’ve never been apart since.
Today, that same table plays a part in every steering wheel we make. Each wheel touches it during production, so we like to think there’s a little bit of Stirling and Jim in every one that leaves our hands.
Racing history, built into every wheel.
Not just history — part of the process.
Where we keep the tools.
This old dresser once stood in the same Kent cottage where Stirling Moss and Jim Clark sawed the cake in half. It was where the likes of Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, Graham Hill, and other legends would leave their helmets and gear for the weekend. Today, it holds the tools we use to build every Les Leston wheel. Still in service.
Handcrafted Steering Wheels – A Family Tradition
Les Leston steering wheels were originally built at Les’s Walsall Wheels factory in Walsall, England. Today, we continue that legacy at Les Leston old home in Kent — still made by hand, still made in England, and still by the Leston family.
Each Wheel is Unique
Every wheel we make is crafted by hand, which means no two are ever exactly the same. Whether it’s a one-off commission or part of a batch, each wheel carries its own subtle variations — small intricacies and telltale signs of the hands that made it.
